Join CouponMountain's Facebook Group and One Dollar Will Go to Toys for Tots

The holidays are coming to an end and a New Year is about to begin. Hopefully the season was full of joy for you. But for some kids, Santa doesn’t make a stop at their house to bring them a favorite toy or a gift.  I was painfully reminded of this while watching the news this week.  There were long lines this holiday season at shelters and various charities  giving out food and toys to kids.  That's why its so great that there are programs like Toys for Tots, helping by providing thousands of toys for families in need.

To help this great cause, CouponMountain.com (an online coupon code site) has pledged to give up to $50,000 to Toys for Tots.  And you can help determine how much Toys for Tots will get from Coupon Mountain.  Because they’re going to give $1 to Toys for Tots for every Facebook Fan they have by Dec. 31, 2010.  No donation is required from you, just a simple click.   Now that's a real bargain!

So please – take a minute to log on and “Like” CouponMountain. Then pass it on.

How You Can Give $1 to Toys for Tots:
·      Go to: www.Facebook.com/CouponMountain
·      Select “Like”
·      CouponMountain will donate $1
·      Spread the word to your friends

Remember to look for Holiday Coupon Codes Before You Buy

When you're doing your holiday shopping this season, remember to look for a coupon code before you buy. Coupons for discounts on all kinds of  merchandise can be found at Coupon Cabin, CouponMountain.com, Sale.com and RetailME.not.  Remember taking a few minutes to search one of these helpful sites, or doing a Google search for your item, plus the key word "coupon code" can result in real savings.  Most websites allow you save items in your shopping cart, and then come back to them to purchase.  So save your items, and then go look for your savings code. Every little bit helps because it all adds up.

Avoid "Gift Grimmace" with Nokia Facebook Apps: Share Your Holiday Gift Wish List

Nokia has introduced two new Facebook apps that aim to optimize gift buying.  How? By letting you share your wish list with those that may be buying for you.  The goal is to let people know exactly what you want, so they don't get you the wrong gift. Even better, they can carry your gift list with them to the store on their mobile phone so they don't get the wrong gift.   You can also list the items with the best prices, if you are a savvy shopper.  The new Nokia Facebook Apps are designed to put an end to your gift returns, or even worse, gifts that end up unused or in the dustbin.

Gift Together is for people who want to group together to buy a phone for someone. It helps them band together to help spread the cost of the perfect gift.

Help Me Choose is really rather clever. The app allows gift givers to connect with friends of the intended recipient without needing to be their Facebook friend. Buying presents for teenagers is pretty tricky, but with this app you can get advice as to the perfect gift.

If you seek to automate your Holiday gift giving, these free apps maybe worth a look.

Divine Design: Heavenly Shopping for a Good Cause

Project Angel Food's Divine Design starts this week in Los Angeles from December 3rd through the 6th. This unique shopping extravaganza offers fabuless fashion, home, beauty and gift items at 50-90% off. Check their website for details and tickets at Divine by Design.  Click here for details about the Gala Opening Event and VIP shopping party. The sale benefits a cause that is near & dear to my heart: Project Angel Food. Project Angel Food is a free meal-delivery program that serves men, women and children debilitated by HIV/AIDS, cancer, and other life-threatening illnesses throughout Los Angeles County. The program literally brings nourishment to the needy. And this week, it will bring retail nourishment to holiday shoppers looking for a bargain. Over 200 designers contributed to this year's sale. Featured designers @ Divine Design include: BCBG, LAMB, Ports 1961, Trina Turk and many more. The sale features men's clothing (Ted Baker), children's clothes & toys, plus designer brands favored by fashioinistas everywhere.

There's also a nice selection of Barbie stuff and kids' toys. I shop the sale for nice gifts for my holiday girlfriend gift packets (stocking stuffers), clothes for work and trinkets for my niece & nephew. I treasure my Trina Turk cashmere sweater that I got at 2 years ago at the sale. I snagged if for well under $100.00.

If you are interested in attending, here are a few things you need to know:

1 ) You need to purchase a ticket to attend the sale at the door. However, there is a coupon available here offering a $10.00 discount on the ticket. If you pay, remember the price of the ticket is tax deductible as it benefits Project Angel Food.

2) Prices on all the goods will decrease as the sale goes on. Yes, each day the price will drop. So, the lowest prices will be on Dec. 6th, the last day of the sale. However, you might not want to wait until the very last day. I usually do wait until after the opening day to make my purchases, so that the prices will be lower.

The sale is open to the general public starting Dec. 3rd at 10:00 am pst. It will be held in the old Robinson-May store adjacent to the Beverly Hilton Hotel. For directions, click here
